There is never a dull moment in the Lehigh Valley with the many events and activities that are scheduled to not only raise money for good causes but are sure to be fun for the whole family! Here are a few of the events happening this month.
Start with a ceremony to present the Inez and Edward Donley Award for Children’s Advocacy to Education 2010! Community Services for Children will present the award on Friday, September 10 from 6-9:30pm at the Eastonian in Palmer Township. A group of 12 leading business executives strives to reach the goal of helping students in the Allentown School District achieve academic excellence. The Lehigh County bar association will host a fundraiser featuring a “Rat Pack” tribute group and an Italian dinner starting at 5:30pm on Saturday, September 11 at the Barristers Club located at 1114 W. Walnut Street in Allentown. For more information, call 610-433-6204.
Help raise funds for the Good Shepherd pediatrics program by attending the Good Shepherd Golf and Tennis Invitational on September 13 at 10am at the Saucon Valley Country Club. The Allentown Public Theatre will host a garden party and house tour fundraiser on September 19 from 3-7pm at the Queen Anne home and garden of Jason Custer, Tim Lewis, and Matt Stitzer. Located at 1536 W. Walnut St in Allentown, the garden party will have live cabaret music and a sneak peek at the upcoming main stage production of Hamlet, A Rock Experience. There will be lots of food from local caterers and restaurants, wine and refreshments, door prizes, and the perfect setting for meeting and greeting. There are only 100 tickets for sale, so get yours before they are gone!
