The signs of summer drawing to a close are in full swing now with the kids back in school, shorter days, and cooler nights, but that doesn’t mean the fun is over yet! Emmaus Main Street Partners will be hosting a brand new event this Saturday, September 10th, beginning at 10am, called the Farewell to Summer Festival. This is the perfect family friendly event to prove that summer’s not over yet, with highlights including live music by “Groovy Tube”, sidewalk sales, apple pie, hot dog and banana split eating contests, children’s activities and so much more!
The Farewell to Summer Festival was designed to be a day for the community to come together to take a break from the stresses of everyday difficulties like dealing with the economy, unemployment, and the housing market, while bringing about fun, community togetherness, and a stress free day for all to enjoy.

Although the deadline to register for the eating contests was August 27th, you can still watch what is sure to be a hilarious combination of face stuffing and fun, so don’t forget your cameras! Another awesome feature of the Farewell to Summer Festival is the liquid nitrogen ice cream stand, sponsored by Air Products. Samples are free and the stand will be located on the library lawn area right before the showing of “Up”.
Located along Main Street in Emmaus, this festival is the first in what is sure to become a highly anticipated annual event in the Lehigh Valley.
