Come one come all to the Elite Equestrian Horse Expo on Saturday, November 20 at the Allentown Fair Grounds. This exciting event, perfect for any age, will feature live horse demonstrations and entertainment all day in Agricultural Hall, located at 17th and Chew Streets, Allentown.
The Elite Equestrian Horse Expo is a wonderful family event that also includes dozens of vendors for you to check out. There is something about horses that puts everyone in a good mood, so be sure to join the fun!
The show hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm one day only, Saturday, November 20. The regular price for adults (ages 12 and up) are $6.00 for the day, children 6-11 are only $2.00 and children under 5 are Free! Receive $1.00 off your adult admission when you bring a non-perishable food item. All donations will benefit the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank. Also coming up in May 2011 at Ag Hall is the Pet Expo & Dog Walk, another fun event perfect for all ages.
The Allentown Fair Grounds & Farmers Market is home to more than Horse and Pet Expos.
More than sixty stands and concessions offer a huge variety of foods ranging from the familiar to the exotic: Amish pies and pastries, baked on the premises by Amish vendors, cheeses from everywhere on the planet, meats sold by local livestock growers, produce from lettuce to passion fruit and French olives, fresh baking chickens and turkey chorizo, lamb chops, even emu and buffalo meat–all of the finest quality, and at good prices.
Perhaps the most appealing thing about the Allentown Fair Ground Farmers Market is the atmosphere. Sometimes it’s busy and noisy, and at certain hours it’s quiet, but its always a great deal of fun. The vendors are genuinely friendly and buyers somehow aren’t made to feel they’re competing with each other for a place in line or the seller’s attention. It’s like a county fair every weekend–an informal but well-run operation where you can not only stock your pantry but have a very good time, at “the most modern old fashioned scene in the East.”
