This weekend, June 4-6, is sure to bring fun to the whole family with events in the Lehigh Valley.  The weekend starts out with “Robin Hood”, a show for all ages, on Friday at DeSales University in Center Valley.  The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival goes through August 7, and has events and activities for children and adults.

Excerpts from morningcall:

Bob Phillips, a designer for “Sesame Street,” has created a lush Sherwood Forest full of surprises and the cast of 13 university student interns features Jacob Dresch as Robin; Melissa Egan as Marian and Jonathan Mulhearn as The Sheriff of Nottingham. Kids also can meet the cast after performances for pictures and autographs.

On Saturday, The Lehigh Valley Road Runners will hold their third kids running series at Lehigh Parkway in Allentown.  You don’t need to be a member of the club, and participation is free!  In addition to the run, children can enjoy balloons, clowns, and a DJ, as well as snacks and refreshments.

Also on Saturday, The American Cancer Society is having a Relay for Life Fundraiser in Bethlehem.

Volunteers committed to fighting cancer in their communities gather once a year at an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event. Each of the more than 4,800 Relays nationwide is an overnight event that mobilizes communities to celebrate survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), remember loved ones and fundraise for the fight against cancer.

The fundraiser is held from 10:00am Saturday until 10:00am Sunday at 1115 Linden St, Bethlehem.  For additional information, call 1-800-227-2345.

Enjoy the outdoors this weekend with plays and music, and get involved with your community by taking part in the relay for life fundraiser!
